Our Elected Officials

Mary Cheh

Councilmember Mary Cheh, Ward 3, has served on the Council of the District of Columbia since 2007 and is currently the Chair of the Committee on Transportation & the Environment. A tenured constitutional law and criminal procedure professor at the George Washington University Law School, Cheh has championed legislation to protect the environment, improve the health of District residents, and has fought for good government. In the last ten years, Councilmember Cheh has introduced over 400 separate bills and led five major Council investigations. Mary is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Douglass College, and received her law degrees from Rutgers and Harvard universities.

Beau Finley
Beau Finley represents single member district 3C04, which stretches along the east side of Connecticut Ave from Quebec Street to Macomb Street.  Beau has been an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner since January 2017 and currently serves as the Vice Chair of ANC 3C.  He can be reached at 3C04@anc.dc.gov and via his website.

Emma Hersh

Emma Hersh serves as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for Single Member District 3C05 and vice chair of the CPBA Resources Committee. Since taking office as Commissioner in 2017, Emma has devoted her time to working on revitalization of the Cleveland Park commercial corridor in partnership with the CPBA; enhancing walkability and pedestrian safety within the community; and engaging with constituents on quality of life issues throughout the community. Emma also serves as assistant vice president of the Board for the Broadmoor Cooperative, a position that she has held since 2015. She earned a BA from Trinity University (Texas) and MPA from New York University. She can be reached at 3C05@anc.dc.gov and via her ANC Facebook page.

Nancy MacWood

Nancy MacWood represents the southern part of the Cleveland Park Historic District, 3C09. Her district extends east and west from the southern part of Macomb St. east of Connecticut Ave. to the southern part of Macomb St. west of Wisconsin Ave. A 17-year member of ANC 3C, MacWood currently serves as Chair of the Commission and Chair of the Planning and Zoning Committee. Commissioner MacWood is also a trustee of the two neighborhood historic conservancies, Rosedale and Tregaron. As an ardent
advocate for Cleveland Park, MacWood prioritizes constituent services and believes her experience on citywide task forces and commissions benefits ANC 3C and Cleveland Park. She is currently serving on the CFO’s Residential Real Property Tax Advisory Council.
